Bottled Water has High Environmental Costs

So it just so happens that bottled water is the world’s fastest growing consumed beverage. Why? Is it because bottled water tastes so much better than tap water? The taste of water is not the topic at hand, however. Most likely, the reasons people drink bottled water is due to its portability, popularity and better taste. People hauling away cases of bottled water from big warehouse stores are putting increased plastics in our landfills and putting stress on our existing spring water.

"In addition to the energy cost of producing, bottling, packaging, storing and shipping bottled water, there is also the environmental cost of the millions of tons of oil-derived plastic needed to make the bottles."
